The first edition of BrebeufHx took place at Collège Jean-de-Brébeuf in Montreal on May 5, 2018. The event had fewer participants and sponsors and lasted one full day. The hackathon's goal was to bring together students and to make them discover the wonders of programming and how it can impact our society for the better!

The majority of participants were high school and university students. There were a few workshops prepared by the mentors that they could decide if they wanted to participate in. Most students were part of a small team ranging from 2 to 6 with our mentors providing advice to their solutions.

At the end of the day, the teams presented The wide array of programs that they created during the hackathon to our judges.
