Hackathon 2022: information

COVID-19

BrébeufHx will take place on February 18-19, 2022.

 

For the fifth edition of BrébeufHx, we have decided to do a hybrid event. Participants will therefore have the opportunity and convenience to choose whether they prefer to attend the event from the comfort of their living room, or come and participate on-site, and enjoy the activities offered.

Please note that the vaccination passport will be required in order to participate in person at the event.

 

General information

Location: hybrid (90 in-person participants at Collège Jean-de-Brébeuf and all other participants will attend virtually)

Price: free and includes food (dinner (Friday and Saturday) and supper (Saturday))

Times:

     Friday, February 18: 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

     Saturday, February 19: 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.


The Opening Ceremony

The opening ceremony will be broadcast on Youtube on the BrébeufHx channel. 

Important information on challenges and regulations will be provided during the opening ceremony.

 


The Closing Ceremony

The closing ceremony will be broadcast on Youtube on the BrébeufHx channel.

The winners will be announced during the closing ceremony.

 

 

Activities

 

Activities will include programming workshops offered by professionals in the field, challenges and interactive presentations on themes such as robotics and artificial intelligence.

 


Challenges

The challenges will be announced during the opening ceremony and a document will be available on the website in the section Resources & Info at the beginning of the hackathon.

 

You can also form teams of up to four people (for advanced) or two people (for beginners) to complete the challenges, which are different for beginners and for advanced programmers. These can be formed in advance or during the event (there will be a team-building workshop).

Challenges will be submitted on Devpost (for advanced challenges) and Google Forms (for beginner challenges).

There will be prizes for beginners and advanced, as well as several raffles. For the full list of prices, please see the last page of the challenge booklet.


Mentors

Mentors can help you with your code. Don't hesitate to ask them if you have any questions. Online, visit the q&a channels in the Discord server to ask your questions.
